The destination is very “walker friendly” since the two towns are connected by a free, pedestrian gondola that runs from 7 a.m. to midnight. Once you arrive here you’ll find that most lodging is ski-in/ski-out or just a short walk to the slopes. Plus, the shopping and dining of both Telluride and Mountain Village are in close proximity to lodging. Many guests find that having a rental car is not necessary in Telluride.
